Enhanced Dynamic DNS using 'Dynamic Sets'

Enhanced Dynamic DNS means having the ability to auto-update DNS host addresses in 'Dynamic Sets' or 'Dynamic Groups'.  A Dynamic Set is a group of hosts that you've flagged as being together in the same group.  You can have multiple Dynamic Sets, or groups of hostnames.  This gives you the ability to run auto-update clients from multiple locations to update only certain groups of hostnames.  For instance, you have 2 computers on a different cable modems at home, one for your web/ftp server and one for your mail and other services.  Each of the servers have a different IP address that automatically gets assigned via DHCP.  Auto-updates are configured on both machines.  The web/ftp server is auto-updating 'Set 1' and the mail server is auto-updating 'Set 2'.  This flexibility gives you the ability to use more than 1 dynamic IP address with your account.  With all other Dynamic DNS providers you can't auto-update from multiple locations therefore making these configurations impossible.  Update 'Set 1' from home and 'Set 2' from the road!

Sometimes it's just nice to be able to see exactly whats in your DNS zone files.  Using our website you can request all your custom DNS zone files be sent to you via email.  This makes it easy for you to verify exactly what the DNS zones we are serving for you look like.  This can prove invaluable for those times when it's 3am and things aren't working as you'd expect.  A good reality check.  We've also added the ability to auto-send your zone files to you when they are dynamically updated.

Backups & Disaster Recovery

You'd be amazed at how many Dynamic DNS providers couldn't recreate your DNS information in a disaster.  You wouldn't want to store the only copy in the DNS server itself.  Any data loss or corruption can cause days of downtime for anything hosted on your domains.  We consistently make multiple database backups per day and store them offsite for your added protection.  A backup is only good if you can restore it, this is why we restore our backups frequently to our development system for verification and testing purposes.
