Subject: Transfer Process (Inter-Registrar)

The transfer process works as follows:

1. ... payment has been approved.

2. Realtime orders are being placed during the checkout process. This starts the ball rolling on your transfer.

3. WhoIS data has to be gathered for the current domain owner. The administrative contact is the key to your transfer either being successful or failing miserably.

4. The administrative contact is parsed from the WhoIS database. This process usually happens within 6-12 hours. An email will be sent to the admin contact on record.

5. An email containing a special URL will be sent to the administrative contact. This special URL presents a Request for Transfer approval form for you to accept.

6. Once you have approved the transfer(s) the ball is passed to the registry for validation and hand-off to the losing-registrar.

7. The losing-registrar is now in charge of the transfer process. Some registrars will send another email to the administrative contact, some will not. Most registrars will ask for the owner to approve the transfer one more time, at their respective website.

8. The losing-registrar typically has 5 days to respond to the transfer request. If they receive your permission very quickly they should not wait this 5 days. If they do not receive the authorization it may take a few days to timeout and be rejected.

9. Once the gaining-registrar and the losing-registrar have both submitted to the registry that the transfer should occur another process will start.

10. The registry will now transfer the domain from the losing-registrar to the gaining-registrar. This time is anywhere from 1-3 days as well, depending on system loads, etc. (not sure why?)

11. The transfer should complete within 1-14 days. After 14 days, if no transfer has completed, the transfer order will be cancelled. A resubmission can take place only after the original order has been cancelled. To cancel an order please email Support@ChangeIP.com with the order number and we can cancel this for you.

12. VERY IMPORTANT: After the transfer has completed you should click on EDIT next to the domain registration. This will sync up the registry data with our database. Once the domain is fully transferred you can view the details of the domain using the EDIT link.

NOTE: The administrative contact will be notified a few times throughout the process. Please make sure that emails are not caught in spam traps from the following address: Support@NetworkSolutions.com, and anything@yourcurrentregistrars domain name. These emails are very important in the process, if they are not replied to immediately the transfer process will fail most likely.

Please feel free to email Support for any questions that you have during the process.
