We sometimes receive questions like this: "We are still experiencing slow delivery time of emails. For instance an email we sent this morning still hasn't arrived in our webmail inbox. Are we exceeding our daily storage space for relaying emails?"
Emails coming to our servers are never delayed for any reason other than a virus scan. A virus scan takes place before the conversation with the remote server even is completed and disconnected. If a remote server has delivered the email to our servers it will instantly be moved to your mailbox and take whatever actions you've specified.
If you are over a quota limit the sending mail server will either be told it was not accepted or a non-delivery notice will be sent. If you are the one sending the mail using a smtp/pop3 client you will receive a notice/error upon sending. You will see 'account limits apply' as part of the error message that you receive. Quota limits are reset daily at mightnight PST (where our servers are located).
