Subject: Name servers - How to delete a child name server.

1 - worst 2 - below average 3 - average 4 - above average 5 - best Rate this article

If you have created a child name server for your domain and wish to have it removed you will need to send an email to our support department. Deleting a child name server is a touchy operation and needs that special care. Simply email us with the request and we will validate your request and delete your name server record.

A child name server, in this context, is an A record that is created at the root servers that tells everyone the IP address to contact to resolve queries for domains. For instance, NS1.ChangeIP.com is a child name server of ChangeIP.com. Child name servers can only be added at the registrar where you purchased the domain name.
