Dynamic SMTP Assistant - Why should we use it?
Our backup mail services are an excellent addition to your existing email infrastructure. However, adding a backup
mail server that doesn't have full knowledge about which email addresses are valid and which aren't is not an ideal
situation.
If a backup smtp server is not aware of the destination email addresses it must accept all email and then try to relay them
to the primary server. Unnecessary spam and virus traffic is now entering your infrastructure and it's even harder
to filter since it's now coming from a trusted backup smtp server.
ChangeIP.com's Exchange Sync will walk thru your Microsoft Exchange™ / Active Directory™ and prepare a complete list of valid
addresses that you accept email for. This list is then securely sent via a web service to our backup smtp server farm
and used to filter unknown email addresses directly at our borders. All invalid email addresses would be rejected immediately
without having to be sent to your server to just to see if it's allowed. This cuts down on network traffic, CPU, disk resources, spam complaints, joe jobs,
as well as dictionary attacks and spam zombies.

You should notice that Customer A (left) only receives emails with valid recipients. Customer B (right) receives all of
the emails and has to reject and/or return 3 emails. If your smtp server is configured to send NDR or bounce notices
this can become a problem very quickly as most of those NDRs are going back to innocent victims that had their email address
spoofed ("joe jobbed').
