DNS Record Types

We support the following record types in DNS Manager

A

  • Hostname
    • To make a root RR, leave blank or put an "@" as either method will make "@" a hostname record
  • Value
  • TTL

MX
  • Hostname
  • Value
  • TTL
  • Priority

AAAA

  • Hostname
  • Value
  • TTL

CNAME
  • Hostname
    • Can't be blank (@ cant be a CNAME)
  • Value
    • Should end in a "." or the domain name will be appended to the end
  • TTL

URL
  • Hostname
  • URL
    • Must be a full URL
      • Valid:
        • http://www.google.com
        • http://foo.com:8080
      • Invalid:
        • www.google.com
        • google.com
  • URL Method
  • TTL

 

SRV

  • Hostname
    • _service._protocol.name.
  • Priority
  • Weight
  • Port
    • Usually given to you by your provider
  • Server Host
    • Usualy given to you by your provider
  • TTL
